Australian Matt Jones is holding on tight in the final round of the Emirates Australian Open, with Presidents Cup player Marc Leishman making a run.
Jones, 39, the 2015 champion, started out with a three-shot lead and began with three consecutive pars before a mistake at the par-three fourth cost him a shot from the right greenside bunker.
The Sydney product redeemed himself with a nice wedge in close for a birdie at the par-five fifth to push the lead back out to three shots from South African Louis Oosthuizen.
Jones is at 13-under through five holes, and Oosthuizen is 10-under through five.
Leishman is at nine-under alongside American Cameron Tringale and England’s Paul Casey, having picked up birdies at the third and the fifth.
The big Victorian has never won an Australian Open despite a fine overseas record.
