Pymble's Jane Hannam and Bernadette Aquilina have had a strong finish today to take out the 2014 Women's Fourball Championship – State Final. Hannam and Aquilina had two great rounds of +4 and +5 to win the event by two. Runner’s up Brooke Stuart and Penny Clarey (Killara) were also very consistent with rounds of +3 and +4 to beat third place by only a shot. Taking out third place with a strong finish was the Ryde-Parramatta pairing of Angela Dane and Natalia Perederienko who had a reasonable score of square yesterday with a vast improvement today to have +6 to take out third place on a countback from Eleanor Meagher and Sheila Boyd (Pymble).
The ladies have had an enjoyable couple of days with the State Final drawing to an end tonight with the presentation dinner being held at Bonville Golf Resort at 7pm.

Pymble's Jane Hannam and Bernadette Aquilina had a score of +4 to lead the first round of the 2014 Women's Fourball Championship – State Final by one stroke. Three pairings are sitting one stroke behind on +3, Penny Clarey & Brooke Stuart (Killara GC), Kate Finlay & Helen McGorman (Manly GC) and Gail Squire & (Margaret Wynyard (St Michael's GC).
Play commences tomorrow morning from 9am. Conditions look to be just as tough tomorrow which makes for a close finish.

The 2014 NSW Women's Fourball Championship State Final will take place on 25-27 November 2014. Thirty One pairs (12 metropolitan and 19 country) have qualified through Club and District events to reach the State Final. They will play two rounds at the magnificent Bonville Golf Resort to determine the 2014 Champions.

The Championship kicked off on 1 January 2014, with club qualifying rounds commencing around the state. This year over 240 clubs participated in this event, with over 3,900 pairs competing at club level.
In September and October, metropolitan and district play-offs narrowed it down to 12 metropolitan and 19 country pairs to contest the State Final. The State Final is 36-holes (two rounds of 18-holes).
“The pairs playing in the final of this tournament have had an amazing journey, from qualifiers at the start of the year, to making it right through to the state final – it’s a real achievement”, remarked Graeme Phillipson, General Manager of Golf at Golf NSW.
Activities kick off on Tuesday 25 November with a welcome BBQ for the players before they take to the course on Wednesday and Thursday. The event concludes with a presentation dinner on Thursday night to reward players for their efforts and to provide a festive finale to a fantastic event.
