PGA EUROPEAN TOUR Johnnie Walker Classic, The Vines Resort and Country Club, Perth. World number one amateur Danny Lee became the youngest ever winner of a European Tour event after winning the Johnnie Walker Classic in Perth. Lee finished at 17-under after rounds of 67,68,69 and 67 to finish one stroke clear of Chilean Felipe Aguilar, Japan&aposs Hiroyuki Fujita and England&aposs Ross McGowan at 16-under. Australians Adam Blyth and Michael Sim were the highest placed Australians in a share of 7th place at 14-under. Tony Carolan was two shots back at 12-under. Camilo Villegas failed to make the cut. PGA TOUR Northern Trust Open, Riviera Country Club, California. Robert Allenby was the highest-placed Australian in a tie for 17th position at the Northern Trust Open in California. It was a difficult weekend for the Aussies on the last Californian stop of the Tour&aposs West Coast swing. Allenby finished at 8-under par, seven shots behind winner Phil Mickelson. It was Mickelson&aposs back-to-back win at Riviera after he wrapped up the title there last year. Mickelson held off a late charge by Steve Stricker to win by one shot. Mercedes-Benz champion Geoff Ogilvy slipped to a tie for 30th at 6-under after being in the top 10 after the second round. Aaron Baddeley was further back at 3-under for the tournament. Stuart Appleby finished with even par- a shot ahead of Retief Goosen and Mike Weir. Steve Elkington, Mathew Goggin, Peter Lonard, John Senden, James Nitties, Nathan Green and Nick O&aposHern failed to make the cut. PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR The ACE Group Classic, TPC Treviso Bay, Naples, Florida. Loren Roberts won the The ACE Group Classic by one shot from Gene Jones and Ben Crenshaw. Bernhard Langer finished in a tie for fifth. Australians Wayne Grady and Graham Marsh finished tied for 41st and 63rd respectively. the LPGA Tour has a week off while the other tours are yet to commence in 2009.
