Australia finish fifth in Bali

Australia has finished in a share of fifth position after the final round of play in the 2009 Queen Sirikit Cup at Bali Nirwana Country Club in Indonesia. Victorian Stacey Keating shot a final round two-under par 72 for her best score of the tournament. Rebecca Flood (NSW) matched her first and second round score with an even par 74. Julia Boland (NSW) was unable to complete her round due to illness. The Korean team of Sei-Young Kim, Ha-Na Jang and Sun-Young Park has completed their victory by ten shots after excellent golf in Bali. Chinese Taipei, which included Srixon Australian Amateur Championship runner-up Pei-Ying Tsai, finished in second position. The Queen Sirikit Cup is recognised as the official ladies tournament in The Asia-Pacific region. The championship is hosted annually on a rotation basis among 14 invited member countries with the objectives to promote the standard of ladies golf in the region and to promote goodwill and friendship among participating teams. Each country is represented by 2-3 national team players who compete in the 54-hole stroke play over 3 rounds. The best two scores are counted each round as the team s score. The team with the lowest combined gross scores over 3 rounds is the winner.
