Beljan hangs on to lead

Charlie Beljan has again defied ill health and will take a two-stroke lead into the final round of the Children&aposs Miracle Network Hospitals Classic. The 28-year-old PGA Tour rookie suffered from shortness of breath and high blood pressure during his second round at Lake Buena Vista in Florida on Friday, so much so he broke down in tears at the end of his round. Beljan spent the night in hospital and returned to the course after being discharged – with instructions to rest – to card a one-under 71 at the Magnolia Course that keeps him two shots clear at the top of the leaderboard. The American leads on 13 under, two ahead of compatriots Brian Gay and Josh Teater – both of whom shot 67s – with South Korean Charlie Wi also on 11 under. Seven men are a shot further back on 10 under – Americans Vaughn Taylor, Robert Garrigus, Matt Every and Tommy Gainey, Swedes Daniel Chopra and Henrik Stenson, as well as Colombian Camilo Villegas. Zimbabwean Brendon de Jonge joins American trio Ryan Palmer, Cameron Beckman and Scott Stallings on nine under. Matt Jones is the best of the Australians in a share of 16th spot on eight under while compatriots Stuart Appleby (five under) and Gavin Coles (four under) are further down the leaderboard. Nathan Green (two under) is equal 61st, a shot clear of Aussie pair Nick O&aposHern and Mathew Goggin who are both one under the card.
