Calling all over 60s – 12 weeks of free training

If you are over 60 years old, or have a loved one over 60 years old who has not been involved in gym/resistance training or regular strenuous activity in the past 6 months, and who lives in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, you have the opportunity to be involved in the ‘Successful Ageing’ study.

Participants get 12 weeks free training at Deakin University in Burwood (Study ID 2012-103) and the opportunity to help further the understanding of the benefits of targeted training regimes to the everyday lives of our ageing population. The first cohort demonstrated significant benefits like reduced falls risk, improved balance and motor function, and even improvements within the hardwiring of their brains and nervous system.

Recruitment for the second cohort is happening now. Contact Ash Moreland on 0402 697 755 or email atw@deakin.edu.au for more information or to express your interest.
