Celebrities to test their mettle

A host of celebrities from sport, entertainment and food will turn out for the Handa Women’s Australian Official Pro-Am at Commonwealth Golf Club on Wednesday 10 March. In the morning draw, which tees off at 7.30am, fans will be able to keep an eye on radio funny man Andy Lee who will be joined by Totally Wild host Natalie Hunter with rising Australian golf star Kristie Smith. Joining professional golfer Felicity Johnson are former Davis and Fed Cup tennis players Wayne Arthurs and Nicole Pratt and the most capped international player in Australian netball, Liz Ellis. While the celebrities tackle the championship layout in the morning draw, golf fans will also be able to watch superstars including World Number 6 Yani Tseng, World Number 7 Anna Nordqvist, World Number 8 Karrie Webb, World Number 19 Sophie Gustafson, defending champion Laura Davies and American star Christina Kim complete their final preparations for Thursday s opening round. After the morning s fun, the afternoon draw tees off at 12.45pm with famous faces from TV and sport trying their luck. Jan Stephenson, a past winner of the championship, makes a triumphant return to the Handa Women’s Australian Open and will be joined by Vega radio host Ian Dicko Dickson and Executive Chef of The European and Melbourne Supper Club, Ian Curley. Keen AFL fans will also spot Essendon midfielder Brent Stanton testing his game in the afternoon draw. Australians Katherine Hull, Sarah Kemp and American Amanda Blumenherst are among the headline players for fans to follow the afternoon s fun.
