Dallas Brooks Finalists Decided

Pristine conditions for the first time all week  greeted the 8 players as they arrived at The Metropolitan Golf Club  for the semi-finals of the 2013 Sir Dallas Brooks Trophy.

The first match-up was between leading qualifiers Todd Woodbridge and daughter Zara Woodbridge from Royal Melbourne, facing off against the Rossdale pair of head professional Simon Angliss and his partner Lois Craig. The shot of the match came from Zara on hole 15 at a crucial point from the left-hand side fairway trap. The 12 year old showcased her talent by perfecting the 60m shot to 10 feet for a win and to bring the match to dormie 3 up with 3 to play. A halved hole with pars on 16 secured team Woodbridge a 3 and 2 win and a spot in the final tomorrow.

The second match was fought out between PGA professional Carl Smedley & Rong Kwok-Xu from Huntingdale, against PGA professional Michael Sund and his partner Jesika Clark from Victoria. The match was all square after 4 holes until Sund and Clark turned up the heat by going 1 under the card for the next 10 holes to beat Smedley and Kwok-Xu 5 and 4. The highlight of their match came from Sund on the 8th hole, carelessly leaving his 60m approach shot hanging over the lip of the hole for a conceded birdie.

The final will begin tomorrow at 12pm, and spectators are encouraged to come and support the pairs as they battle it out for the title. Presentations will be held in the clubhouse after the completion on their match.
