England takes Ashes lead

The English Squad take a 6-3 match lead into Wednesday&aposs second and final day of The Ashes at Elanora Country Club on Sydney&aposs northern beaches. In perfect conditions, England took a 3-0 lead after the morning foursomes. Stiggy Hodgson and Andrew Sullivan, who both played in the recent Master of the Amateurs and NSW Amateur, defeated NSW pair Brett Drewitt and Matt Stieger 1up. Neil Raymond and David Coupland defeated Queensland&aposs Tim Hart and Tasmanian Kalem Richardson 3&1. Rory Bourke and Jake Higginbottom lost 3&1 to Jack Senior and Darren Wright. In the afternoon singles, the Australians fought back to share the results 3-3. Matt Stieger defeated Andrew Sullivan 1up while Brett Drewitt defeated Darren Wright 3&2. Jake Higginbottom was the other win for Australia with a 1up win over Ben Loughrey. England&aposs Jack Senior, Neil Raymond and Stiggy Hodson all recorded victories for their side.
