Only three scores of 70 or better were recorded today one by last year s Champion, Josh Munn (NZ) another by Queenslander Simon Viitakangas, who made the most of being out in the first group of the day. Munn is back in contention, which is quite amazing after starting the event with a five over par round of 77. It would take a great final round to get him home, but he showed last year that he has the ability to handle the last round pressure. But the day belonged to Bonnie Doon s Jordan Zunic. Zunic played in the second last group and handled the conditions brilliantly to shoot a two under par round of 70, and holds a three stroke lead going into tomorrow s final round. There are five players sitting in second place: Geoff Drakeford (Vic), Luke Toomey (NZ), Ryan Evans (England), Jarryd Felton (WA), and Curtis Luck (WA). Friday 24 January 2014 The morning players took advantage of a fantastic opportunity today to make ground on the leaders. Fine weather and a light breeze saw some great scoring. Luck has taken the lead after a fine six under par round of 66. Isaac Noh was helped along by an albatross on the par 5 fourth hole, on his way to 69, to add to yesterday&aposs 68. Noh is in second position ahead of another Western Australian, Jarryd Felton. Thursday 23 January 2014 Recently crowned Australian Amateur Champion, Ta Koh (New Zealand) continued his fine form with a 7 under par 65 at Belmont GC today. He is joined at the top of the leaderboard by Bonnie Doon&aposs Jordan Zunic. Three shots further back are six players, with several of those continuing their fine form from last week&aposs Australian Amateur Championship. Cameron Davis (Roseville) and Anthony Murdaca (SA) met each other in the quarter finals in Adelaide. Wednesday 22 January 2014 116 players have teed it up yesterday for the last 81 spots in the Greater Building Society Lake Macquarie International main draw. Scores of 79 or better made the cut, with two of these players being on the reserve list. The first round will be held on Thursday 23 January, 2014.
