Herbert posts course record in Scotland

Scottish Stroke Play 3rd & 4th round update and results:

Another day of wild weather greeted our players for the final day of play today. The 3rd round conditions, even with consistent rain throughout, were the best we experienced for the tournament with only a 5-10kph wind blowing for the majority of the round.

Lucas Herbert was our 1st player on the course at 7:30am and he took full advantage of the mild conditions to post a bogey free 6 under par 65, a new course record for the 125y.o Moray GC! Lucas birdied his 1st, 3rd, 9th, 15th, 16th and 17th holes in a round his playing partners described as being the "perfect ball striking round".

Antonio Murdaca began his round in style with a "kick in" birdie at the 1st and a drive and 5 iron approach to 5 feet for an eagle 3 at the par 5 2nd!

3rd round scores:

Lucas Herbert -6 (-2)
Antonio Murdaca +2 (+3)
DJ Loypur +3 (+5)
Ben Eccles +3 (+5)

The final round conditions were not so kind. Winds gusting up to 80kph and heavy showers made the scoring extremely difficult.

Ben Eccles and DJ Loypur played exceptional golf in the conditions, each posting 1 over par 73's. Their rounds were the 2nd best scores of the afternoon, an indication of both the toughness of the conditions and the quality of these players.

After his record breaking 3rd round Lucas Herbert looked on track to continue his hot form with birdies at his opening 2 holes however bogeys at the 3rd and 5th holes stalled his momentum, eventually signing for a 3 over par 74. Lucas finished the event T4, another great result for the young Victorian.

Antonio Murdaca had an up and down final round of 2 over 73 which included 2 birdies and an eagle at the par 5 17th.

Final results:

T4 Lucas Herbert 285 (+1)
T23 Antonio Murdaca 289 (+5)
T26 Ben Eccles 290 (+6)
T26 DJ Loypur 290 (+6)
