The expansion of Golf SA&aposs high performance program into regional areas has been hailed a considerable success, following the completion of the inaugural regional program at Renmark over the weekend of 8 and 9 October. The two-day intensive training program mixed direct tuition with on-course playing sessions, and included video analysis for full swing and putting technique, playing statistical analysis, practice plan consultation and club fitting. The program was conducted by SA assistant state coach Jamie Clutterham and was attended by Sam Inglis (Kingston), Ryan Wheeler (Kadina), Tim Atze (Pinaroo), Ramon Thorne (Loxton) and Jarred Steele (Clare). “This HP camp has certainly been a huge success overall with all five participants showing signs of benefits in different areas,” said Clutterham. “It is my opinion that we use the data from this program to both better plan and structure the future Coaching exposure to Golf SA country regions. “It will also expose more golfers to the requirements of elite golf and it will provide much more motivation to more golfers to raise the bar for our playing standards in country regions. “I must mention all of the participant s attitude was fantastic, they clearly appreciated the program and it was a very nice feeling to be providing information to people who appreciated it,” Clutterham said. Clare&aposs Jarred Steele said he was certain appreciative of the opportunity to participate in an elite level clinic. “The level of coaching we received was something that many of us had never been exposed to before, but Jamie is a great coach and uses the modern technology really well,” he said. Loxton&aposs Ramon Thorne was equally complimentary about the program setup. “Being in a small group was extremely beneficial, giving us more one-on-one time with Jamie,” he said. “I can now spend time practising the areas which were identified as needing further work, which will in turn improve my performance. “Jamie was able to share his extensive knowledge of the game, which we all found insightful. “His set up at Renmark is one of the best that i have seen, and feel very privileged to have him in my backyard.” Plans for future regional High Performance programs will be devised following a review of the inaugural camp at Renmark.
