Jack Newton Junior Golf has a focus on getting school children involved in the game of golf by educating the teachers. These teachers are then able to pass on their knowledge and make golf a regular part of the students learning.
Through the help of JNJG's Territory Managers and the MyGolf schools program JNJG has been able to train over 700 teachers in New South Wales. This ongoing effort means more and more children are exposed to the game with the hope that these children will then go on to join the junior or cadet programs at their local golf clubs.
Recently JNJG CEO Peter Van Wegen and Schools Coordinator Ross Abbott met with New Zealand Golf representatives and explained the idea behind the schools program and the aim for increasing the number of juniors in the sport. They received some excellent feedback and in a recent article by David Newbery on Golf Industry Central, NZ Golf representatives praised the JNJG programs and even hoped to use this initiative in their own organisation.
JNJG are pleased to receive the international recognition and are continuing to develop the schools program to get as many schools, teachers and students involved.
