McIlroy sees positive signs ahead of Sydney

World Number 6 Rory McIlroy finished in a tie for fifth place at the DP World Tour Championship – his third top six finish in his last four starts. The 24 year-old Northern Irishman will take this week off before heading to Sydney next week for the Emirates Australian Open at Royal Sydney Golf Club from 28 November to 1 December. It’s been good, a lot of progression, a lot of positive signs, McIlroy told Sky Sports. I feel like I m hitting enough good shots and making enough birdies. It’s just about eradicating some of those sloppy shots and mistakes. When I do that, my expectations will obviously be very high. The former world No. 1 is in the midst of arguably his busiest stretch of the year. After playing in the Kolon Korea Open, he has teed it up at the BMW Masters, a one-day exhibition against Tiger Woods and the European Tour s season finale in Dubai before heading to Sydney and then back to the United States to play in Tiger Wood&aposs Northwestern Mutual Challenge tournament.
