The Southern Boys and Girls Championship was conducted at the Llanherne and Royal Hobart Golf Club last weekend. Riverside member Kade Philpott won the Athol Shephard consistency and State boys team selection event with rounds of 70, 75, 75 and 75. The 17-year-old, one handicapper s 72-hole total of 295 (+7) sealed the championship by thirteen strokes from Jack Tregaskisjago. Tregaskisjago, a 16-year-old Prospect Vale Golf Club junior, placed second with rounds of 75, 74, 81 and 78, a total of 308 (+20). Tasmania Golf Club’s Luke Gilbert placed third on 316 (+28), with Riverside s Alex Groves fourth on 319 (+31). Tasmania Golf Club’s Georgia Milbourne won the girls championship finishing with scores of 85, 88, 90 and 83, a 72-hole total of 346. The 15-year-old finished four strokes in front of North West Bay Golf Club Zahara Lemon on 350. To download a copy of the results please click here.
