Golf Australia is the national governing body for golf in Australia with a goal to raise the level of interest and participation in the game from grassroots golfers through to the elite levels, spectators, volunteers and associated industry bodies.
Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia have united in a Joint Venture to promote ONE national junior development program, MyGolf. The updated MyGolf Club program was launched in to market in July, 2014. The Joint Venture is now working to update the successful MyGolf Primary & Secondary school programs and the MyGolf Sporting Schools offering for full launch into market in Term 3, 2015, and has identified the need for a qualified National Schools Golf Coordinator to join the MyGolf team and assist in driving the MyGolf program into schools.
Reporting to the Participation Manager, the National Schools Golf Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and roll-out of the MyGolf Schools Program and MyGolf Sporting Schools offering across Australia. This includes responsibility for program development, stakeholder management, administration finance and marketing for the programs.
Key Responsibilities include:
•Active promotion of the programs across Australia through key stakeholders
•Promote the MyGolf School Teacher coaching module across Australia
•Recruitment and linking of Community Coaches and PGA Members to the programs
•Development of the Schools Participation Pathway incorporating the programs and events
•Administration and coordination of database records, program budgets and newsletters
•Act as the main point of contact for schools, teachers and key stakeholders for all program enquiries. Establish close working relationships with key stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you must be able to swiftly build relationships and deal calmly and consistently with demanding responsibilities and conflicting priorities from a range of stakeholders. Experience in the development and delivery of entry level sport programs resulting in participation growth is essential. Qualifications in sport management, business management or education (trained Teacher) would be an advantage, as would an understanding of the sport of golf.
This is a unique opportunity to introduce the game of golf to the youth of Australia!
