Puckett, Morgan share lead at Women’s Senior Amateur

ROUND 1 RESULTS Defending champion Jacqui Morgan (NSW) has a share of the lead after the first round of the Australian Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Tanunda Pines Golf Club in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Morgan and 2010 champion Robyn Puckett (USA) shot 1-over 75s to take a five stroke lead on the rest of the field. Libby Day (VIC) is in outright third place after an opening round 80 while Robyn Boniface (NZ) and Jill Blenkley (NSW) are tied for fourth place on 81. Seven-time champion Sylvia Donohoe (NSW) is 12 strokes behind the leaders after an opening round 87. The second qualifying round begins on Tuesday. The Australian Women&aposs Senior Amateur Championship is open to players aged 55 years and over. Players contest 36-holes qualifying, with the leading 16 players progressing to elimination match play. The leading eight players in four separate age divisions also qualify for age flights.
