Queen Sirikit: Australians endure tough start in Delhi

The Australians have endured a tough start in the opening round of the 2011 Queen Sirikit Cup at Delhi Golf Club. The team is tied with Indonesia in 10th place at 9-over par, a stroke behind China and Japan. Victorian Breanna Elliott and Western Australia s Jessica Speechley posted the two counting scores for the day with rounds of 74 (+2) and 79 (+7) respectively. Korea leads the tournament at 1-over par with rounds of 69 (Hyo Joo Kim) and 76 (Ji Hee Kim). The Philippines hold second place, two strokes behind Korea at 3-over par, while New Zealand is tied with Malaysia in third place at 6-over. The second round begins later today (AEDST).
