Record participants in Deaf Golf Championships

Deaf Golf Australia were the proud hosts of the 20th Australian Deaf Golf Championships that was held at Thirteenth Bach Golf Links at Barwon Heads, Victoria on 16 to 20 January 2012. The event was part of the Australian Deaf Games which included 16 sports such as netball, cricket, futsal, volleyball, etc. A great week was had by all. The Golf Tournament had a record 44 participants which included 37 Men and 7 Ladies, from 5 states. All were congratulated on making the effort to attend the Championships. Lovely warm weather greeted those golfers. The 13th Beach Golf Links proved to be a tough but fair golf course. Congratulations to the following winners:

Jack Besley (Victoria) was the worthy winner of the Athlete of the Games. The NSW Deaf Mens Golf Team won the Team of the Games. It is rare that golf is on front page at the Closing Ceremony. Well done to all involved. For more information visit: www.deafgolfaustralia.com.au
