Relive the 2015 Oates Vic Open

We’re well and truly underway with 2016 and the Oates Vic Open is making its way into the Australian golfing spotlight. 

Reigning champions Richard Green and Marianne Skarpnord are both set to defend their titles as the tournament returns to Thirteenth Beach for the fourth year runninng. While Australian golfing icon, Karrie Webb will grace the tournament for her first ever Oates Vic Open appearance.

But before we look too far ahead let’s first take a look back at the 2015 event.

The 2015 Women’s Oates Vic Open champion was Norwegian Marianne Skarpnord. The win marked her 7th professional title including 3 wins on the Ladies European Tour which she joined in 2005. Take a look at Skarpnord’s winning score card:

The 2015 Men’s Oates Vic Open champion was Skarpnord’s fiancé, Victorian Richard Green. Not only did Green replicate his partner by taking out the title but it also marked his 7th professional title which also includes 3 wins on the European Tour! Take a look at Green’s winning score card:

Richard Green’s hole-in-one albatross

Getting on the top plays of the day of ESPN’s SportCentre is no easy feat. However during the 2015 Oates Vic Open Pro-Am, Green ticked that off the bucket list with this unbelievable hole-in-one albatross on the par-4 15th hole.
