ROLEX RANKINGS – KENYON MAKES ‘MOVE OF THE WEEK’

As a result of their efforts at the Navistar LPGA Classic Sarah-Jane Kenyon and Wendy Doolan have made significant moves in the Rolex Rankings this week. Kenyon&aposs 6th place finish saw her move up 80 places to 238 in today&aposs rankings release. This ranking is more reflective of the abilities of the 24-year old from the Sunshine Coast. Her move into the Top-250 comes on the back of some outstanding performances in recent weeks. Kenyon&aposs good form started back in August at the Falls Auto Group Classic on the Duramed FUTURES Tour where she finished in a tie for 16th. She followed that with a tie for 11th, a tie for 8th and then she secured her second career victory at the ILOVENY Championship. That win also saw her finish 3rd on the FUTURES Tour Money List, thereby securing her LPGA Tour card for 2009. It was an exciting time for the likable Queenslander as she also got engaged to her long-time beau (and caddy) Duane Smith.

With renewed confidence, Kenyon went back to the LPGA and posted a tie for 16th at the Bell Micro LPGA Classic and followed that up with her tie for 6th at the Navistar. After five years plying her trade between the FUTURES Tour and the LPGA in the US, the hard work seems to be paying off. This was no more evident than when she won in New York to secure her card as she said, "I&aposm always set on going to LPGA Q-School every year. It will be nice to be able to spend some extra time at home and see the family."

Her cheque for US$35,624.00 also saw her move up to 80th on the Official Money List where she needs to stay to assure her fully exempt status for 2009.
