Rummy adds spice to WA Open clinic

There are two types of MyGolf clinic – awesome and super awesome with Brett Rumford on top.

Rumford, fresh off his win at the West Australian PGA Championship, came to Royal Fremantle last week and gave back heartily to the game that has been his passion since his own junior days around Perth.

The five-time European Tour winner gave a full one-hour clinic around his own preparations for last week's WA Open.

And after all the tips to help the next wave of WA champions, Rumford then turned on a bit of razzle-dazzle with some trick bunker shots that had the youngsters enthralled.

None more so than when he played a Phil Mickelson-style backward flop shots from the bunker lip.

And to cap off a day the MyGolfers will never forget, Rumford gave signed Titleist golf balls to each of the 24 participants, then gave the best learner a signed Royal Fremantle Golf Club towel.

And for those among the crew who are part of the RFGC junior program, they were able to follow Rumford through his pro-am round on the day before the tournament with the club pro guiding them on how Brett carries himself and goes about his round.

As we say in the MyGolf world – priceless!!!
