Scotch Oakburn make it to National Secondary Schools Champs

Scotch Oakburn College won the Tasmanian division of the 2012 Australian Secondary School Teams Championship today. The team of George Waller, Joel Harwood and Alexander House won the event held at the Mowbray Golf Club with a combined stableford score of 78 points. Individually Waller, Harwood and House returned scores of 38, 40 and 36 points respectively (best two scores to count towards the teams overall total). High scoring by the Scotch Oakburn students saw the boys hold off Latrobe High School which finished one point adrift. Joel Lunson, Brady Castles and Sean Birchenough carded rounds of 35, 39 and 38 points respectively. The Flexi Learning team of Sam Rawlings and Dougie Warren placed third with 72 points. The best individual stableford for the day excluding winning teams went to Brendon Walker from Launecston College with 37 points. The Scotch Oakburn College students have earned the right to represent Tasmania at the national final being held at the Peninsula Country Golf Club from December 3-4. Full results here
