Secure your PGA Traineeship with Golf SA

Golf SA, in association with the PGA of Australia, are delighted to announce a unique employment opportunity for one player to secure their PGA Traineeship under the tutelage of Golf SA. In addition to undertaking all playing, teaching and educational components of the PGA Traineeship program, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to learn and deliver a wide range of industry initiatives as per Golf SA s charter as a State Sporting Organisation. Duties expected of a PGA Trainee employed by Golf SA would include the following: Tournament preparation and conveying Coaching, program development and delivery Government training programs through State Sport and Rec Departments Grant application processes Playing, take part in all required trainee matches and events. Online Applications, Golf Link handicapping, tournament entry reconciliation Office administration Repairs and club fitting High Performance involvement Retail operations, out sourced through a local pro shop Industry support and advisory Rules & Handicapping Course Rating Marketing & Media The successful PGA Trainee applicant will be under the indenture of Golf SA Development Coach, Allan Telford. Allan has been a member of the PGA of Australia for over 33 years and currently holds a AAA coaching classification. A PGA Traineeship with Golf SA involves a five-day working week (with time allocated in the Golf SA office an a local Pro Shop), with days off to coincide with local trainee events as required by the terms of the traineeship program. Golf SA would be keen to see the Trainee through his or her full term of their traineeship. About the PGA of Australia Traineeship Program Founded in 1911, the PGA of Australia is the second oldest PGA in the world, comprised of more than 2,000 dedicated men and women who promote the game of golf. The PGA Trainee Program is open to golfers either male or female who have a passion for the sport of golf. Working alongside a fully qualified PGA Member, this three-year program will provide you with invaluable on-the-job training and experience at a golf facility, whilst at the same time offering formal education in a variety of vocational areas. On completion of the program you will receive: Full Vocational Membership of The PGA of Australia Certificate II in Sport (Career Oriented Participation) Certificate III in Sport (Career Oriented Participation) Diploma in Sport Coaching Vocational Golf Coach Accreditation through the Australian Sports Commission Applications for the program in 2012 open 1 July 2011 and close 31 August 2011.
