Senden in with chance

Luke Donald moved into a one-shot lead at the half-way stage of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, while Australian John Senden is just three shots off the pace. Brett Wetterich, a surprise winner of last year&aposs event, joined first-round leader Sean O&aposHair (69) and Swede Fredrik Jacobson (67) in a tie for second at six-under on a day when Donald carded 66 to set the halfway pace. Donald&aposs game appears to be headed in the right direction, after an early season mini-slump. He was close to the lead all day, before going to the front with a chip-in birdie from 15 metres at the par-three 17th at the Four Seasons TPC host course. Only eight strokes separated the 73 players who made the cut, with Senden among those after carding 69 on the second day. Senden made a good start by making birdies on the 3rd and 10th holes but a bogey on the 15th saw the Australian miss his chance to move into a tie for fifth place. Other Australians still in with a chance are Nathan Green (70) who is tied for 12th as Robert Allenby (70) and Rod Pampling (70) tie for 18th position on the leaderboard. The tournament has not been so good for some other big name players though as Stuart Appleby (71) and Nick O&aposHern (70) failed to make the cut.
