Srixon Golf now provides pencil bags to local schools that have a direct relationship with their local golf club.

Following on from the program Jack Newton Junior Golf has built within the school system, high schools now provide PASS and SLR programs relating to golf. During the program students will undertake studies and practical activities in golf.

To assist in the program Srixon has come on board and provided pencil bags with four clubs, which allows schools to experience golf on a real course.

The students have access to the equipment as long as they participate in the program.

Kotara High School has built a relationship with Merewether Golf Club in recent years and this program provides another vital link in the player development pathway.

During Term One 10 students are participating in the SLR Golf program with visits scheduled at a local driving range and Merewether Golf Club. All the students have athletic backgrounds but none have had more than a few hits at golf.

Recent feedback from the students has been positive with the golf club enjoying the opportunity to provide new avenues of growth within their local area.
