Take a swing at a trip of a lifetime!

Golf Australia today announced the launch of the inaugural Junior Golf Development Lottery with over $180,000 in prizes on offer. The Lottery aims to raise money to implement and enhance junior golf programs, guided by the Vision 2018 Document. The funds will be distributed through the States to help shape a vibrant and active future for Australia&aposs junior golfers. Golf Australia CEO, Tony Hallam said, “Our junior golfers are our future and their development is key to ensuring the continued viability and success of our golfing industry.” “We have received unprecedented support from our sponsors, which means we are able to offer outstanding prizes that no self respecting golfer could say &aposno&apos to. Imagine yourself playing alongside Ogilvy in the Pro-Am in December! Mr Hallam enthused. The prizes include: A trip for two flying Business Class to the 2008 US Masters, Augusta; A trip for four friends to travel Australia playing a round of golf at five exclusive clubs, including the MFS Australian Open venues for men and women The Australian Golf Club, Sydney and Kingston Heath Golf Club, Melbourne; A trip for two to the MFS Australian Open in December and the MFS Women’s Australian Open in January. Each of these Open prizes includes a spot to play in the Pro-Am; Other prizes include a trip for two to the Women’s Australian Open as VIP guests of Peugeot Australia; A Fisher & Paykel Kitchen Fit Out; and 400 packs of one dozen Srixon Golf Balls. Each ticket is also automatically placed in a Club Prize Draw. Any club across Australia could win the first and second prizes, a Toro Australia maintenance vehicle or the third prize, a $7,500 Facilities and Equipment Upgrade Package from MFS Limited. Tickets for the lottery will be available from 7 September until 30 November through local golf clubs or via the website www.golfaustralia.org.au. There are 180,000 tickets at $5 each with 20 tickets in each book. Other highlights include booksellers who return a completely sold book will receive one bonus ticket to go in the draws; fifty cents from the sale of each ticket goes back to the State Association where it was sold and ticket buyers also have the chance of winning a $175 Sporte Leisure outfit each week during the Lottery if they return their tickets early. The lottery closes by the last mail on November 30 and the prize draws will take place on December 5 at the Golf Australia office in South Melbourne. “We understand many clubs are already committed to other charities and their own community projects however, we would greatly appreciate any support they can lend us.” Hallam continued, “We invite clubs across Australia to support our Lottery and give their members a chance to win.” In order to operate nationally requirements for permits have been met for Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory. Tickets are unable to be sold in Western Australia but golfers can order tickets via the website or phone 03 9663 0886. Tickets are able to be sold in Tasmania only within the clubs to family and friends and not in a public place. Tickets are able to be sold in the Northern Territory without permit as the Lottery is registered under the Golf Australia affiliated Darwin Golf Club.
