Golf Australia has announced the teams to represent Australia at the Nomura Cup, Spirit International, Juan Carlos Tailhade and Argentine Amateur Championship in a busy upcoming period of international amateur golf. Cameron Davis (NSW), Geoff Drakeford (VIC), Taylor MacDonald (QLD) and Aaron Wilkin (QLD) will form the Nomura Cup team at Santiburi Country Club, Chiang Rai, Thailand from 14-17 November. Davis is a Japan Amateur Semi-Finalist and will play the Japan Open in October while Drakeford was runner-up at this year s Australian Amateur and won the individual section of the Juan Carlos Tailhade Cup in Argentina in 2012. MacDonald won last year s Victorian Amateur Championship while Wilkin finished runner-up at the Mandurah Amateur Open in Western Australia a fortnight ago. Gareth Jones will be the Team Coach and Matt Cutler will be the Team Manager. Grace Lennon (VIC), Hannah Green (WA), Sam Daley (QLD) and Ruben Sondjaja (NSW) will represent Australia at the Spirit International held at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Texas from October 30 November 2. Lennon won the 2013 Riversdale Cup while Green won the 2013 WA Women’s Stroke Play. Sondjaja and Daley are both playing US college golf and are based at Iowa State University. Sondjaja finished runner-up at 2013 Riversdale Cup. Tony Meyer will be the Team Coach. Anthony Murdaca (SA) and Jarryd Felton (WA) will travel to Argentina for the Juan Carlos Tailhade Cup and the Argentine Amateur Championship from 14-24 November at Los Lagartos Golf Club and Martindale Country Club. Murdaca won his second Australian Boys Amateur Championship in April and will return to Sydney following the Juan Carlos Tailhade Cup to compete in the Emirates Australian Open at the Royal Sydney Golf Club. Felton s recent success included his win at the Mandurah Amateur Open a fortnight ago. Grant Field will be the Team Coach. The 2014 National Squad will be announced in early November.
