US: Players set for Northeast Amateur

AIS and Golf Australia National Squad Members will take aim at success at the Northeast Amateur which begins on Wednesday at Wannamoisett Country Club on Rhode Island. University of Georgia-based Bryden Macpherson (VIC) is joined by Ryan McCarthy (TAS), Jason Scrivener (WA) and Jordan Sherratt (SA) at the championship. Orlando&aposs Peter Uihlein, the number one amateur in the world on the R&A Amateur Golf Rankings, heads the field which includes Hudson Swafford- one of a number of amateurs to compete in the U.S Open at Pebble Beach last week. Other Australian Amateurs to compete in the field include Kalem Richardson, Max McCardle, Brendan Smith and Tim Hart. Since its inception in 1962, The Northeast Amateur has produced champions in the course of its history who have gone on to record successes at the highest levels including Luke Donald (two-time winner), Anthony Kim, Dustin Johnson, David Duval and Ben Crenshaw.
