Nearly 70 junior golfers took to the Long Island site on the Queen’s Birthday to contest the National Junior Classic.
Kai Shipp from Sandhurst fought off a very solid field to win the girls section following a very steady round of 75, 3 shots ahead of Victorian representative Shanaiah Fernando.
In the boys section Liam Reaper fired a scintillating round of one-under par 71 to win by two shots from Victoria’s Antony Majstorovic.
However, the highlight of the day was the hole in one by Jack Chrystie on the 9th hole. To add to that excitement 11 year old Jeneath Wong who was playing in the next group also had a hole in one with her slam dunk to the short, steep and treacherous hole.
