Crawley, Fahey control Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander champs

Stunning weather greeted participants of the 2016 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Championships at Nudgee Golf Club today.

With the course in beautiful condition, a couple of Maroochy River Golf Club members took control of both the men’s and women’s competition in Kimberley Crawley and David Fahey.

Crawley showed the ladies that good scores were out there with her attacking style of play accumulating 4 birdies during her round of 2 over, 74.

While Fahey proved that consistency was the way to go with 15 pars in his 3 over 74.

William Bell from Camden Golf Club is close behind with a 5 over 76, with William Letts, Nathan Blacklock and Shane Bird close behind on 7 over.

The Championship moves to Virginia Golf Club for Rounds 2 & 3, returning to Nudgee Golf Club for the final round.
