DRAW: #QldOpen round 1

ROUND 1 TEE TIMES

Elite amateurs are spliced throughout the hot field of professionals to tee it up in the Isuzu Queensland Open at Pelican Waters on the Sunshine Coast tomorrow.

When the draw was released today, the only female participant, Sarah Wilson, was grouped with Western Australians Jarryd Felton and Brady Watt.

Wilson is just the second woman to compete in the Open, having qualified this week, after Becky Kay last year made her way into the field. She is a member of Pelican Waters having originated from Cairns.

Queensland PGA champion and the 2017 state Open winner Michael Sim is grouped with Brad Kennedy, who finished tied-third in Toowoomba last week, as well as Australian Amateur champion Jed Morgan, who recently contended in the ISPS Handa Vic Open at 13th Beach. They tee off at 11.30am.

The morning draw features a couple of marquee groups including Dimi Papadatos, Deyen Lawson and Queensland amateur Chris Crabtree from 6.40am, and the trio of Anthony Quayle, Matt Millar and New South Wales amateur Nathan Barbieri at 6.40am.

Another Queenslander, the Australian junior champion Elvis Smylie, is grouped with experienced pros Nick Cullen, the 2013 Queensland Open winner, and Richard Green at 11.20am.

Defending champion Jordan Zunic tees off at 7.10 am with Dylan Perry and amateur Dylan Gardner.
