Golf is cool in School!

Blackwood Primary School has been fortunate enough to have had Jan Douglas and Nick McCormack visiting and running golf clinics with our 3/4 and 5/6 classes. Jan and Nick have been arriving at 8am both Mondays and Tuesdays and running two consecutive sessions for our students. As the PE teacher, I am proud to report back that the students here have absolutely loved it. Not only have these clinics sparked more interest in the sport of golf, they have also provided the students with the chance to get involved in a sport most hadn’t tried before.

Jan and Nick kept things interesting, regularly introducing the groups to new clubs, techniques and swings. The variety of activities and the enthusiasm of both Jan and Nick kept students very eager. They came to PE lessons excited to start and left sad that they were over.

It's been great to see the students having a go at golf and thoroughly enjoying a sport they may not have otherwise been exposed to. I would love to see more of this in schools and have really appreciated the effort and time Jan and Nick have provided us with.
