Heating Up in Pennants




Defending champions New South Wales have made it three wins from three starts after accounting for Mona Vale 4-3. The standouts for the La Perouse based club were Zinyo Garcia 5&3 and Shaun Cameron 5&4. Ryde-Parramatta defeated Cronulla 5-2 with Sean Park winning 4&2 for the home club.

Long Reef defeated Bankstown 4-3 after last week’s loss at home. Khan Gallagher was solid winning 5&3 for the northern beaches club.

2018 runners up Bonnie Doon secured a 4-3 win at Pymble GC for their second win of the year in section 2. Andrew Cinelli was the standout winning 7&6 for the Doon, while Christopher Fiadino winning 6&4 was the best for the home club.

In the clash of the heavyweights in section 3, Avondale, have pulled off a stunning 5-2 away win at The Australian. Brothers Bryce and Jye Pickin did the damage, Bryce winning 5&4 and Jye defeating Blake Windred 3&2.

Macquarie Links defeated Pennant Hills 5-2. Chong Son was the standout winning 6&5 for the home club.

St. Michael’s proved too good strong for Concord, winning 5.5-1.5. John Lyras was the home club’s standout with an impressive 6&5 win, while Concord’s Blake Phillips won 5&4 for the away team.

Moore Park and Castle Hill shared the points with a 3.5-3.5 draw. Clancy Bowe was solid winning 5&3 while Patrick Idquival won 4&3 for Castle Hill GC.



North Ryde prevailed 4-3 in a tight contest against Lynwood. Alex Sghabe was the standout winning 5&4 for the home club.

Cromer and Liverpool could not be separated and shared the points with a 3.5-3.5 draw. Five matches were decided on the 18th hole with the standout being Cromer's Mark Taylor with a 5&3 win.

In section 2, solid wins from Rodney Sutherland 6&5 and Peter Morris 5&4 secured the win a 4-3 win for Penrith against Fox Hills.

Massey Park defeated Killara 4-3 to pick up an away win. Fintan Tierney was the standout winning 5&4.

The Lakes defeated Twin Creeks 5-2 to notch up their third win for the season. Samuel Beck was impressive winning 9&7, and Christopher Hartas won 6&4.

Glenmore Heritage picked up a vital away win against Bayview 4-3. Glenmore’s Matthew Brewer and Benjamin Michelmore both secured 4&3 wins, with Patrick Wood was the best for the home team.

Monash defeated Cabramatta 4-3 at Cabramatta for their third win in section 4. Jordan Mackay was the standout winning 4&2 in a close contest.

Stonecutters Ridge prevailed against Oatlands 4-3 with Matthew Horton’s impressive 7&6 win the best for the home club, while Darcy Boyd held on to win 1up on the 18th hole.



Carnarvon defeated Cumberland 5-2. Andrew Wallace was the best for the home club winning 4&3, while Eugenia Morozoff and Arthur Barakat were impressive winning 6&5 for Cumberland.

Eastlake GC accounted for Royal Sydney 4-3 to collect a vital away point. Darren Spalding was the standout winning 5&4.

Wakehurst dominated Campbelltown 7-0. In a one-sided contest, Andrew Sutton 8&7 and Michael Hatcher 7&6 were the best for the home club big win.

Camden defeated a gallant Manly team 4-3 with Lindsay Hudson winning 6&4.

Lakeside prevailed against Muirfield with a 5-2 away win. Benjamin Rollo was the pick in a close contest, winning 6&5 for the home team.

Keith Shepherd who was impressive winning 8&7, helped Antill Park defeat Brighton Lakes 4-3.

Kogarah proved too strong for Wallacia winning 6.5-0.5. Big wins from Brett Hayden 8&6, Ali Rachid 7&6 and Peter Cooper 6&5 were the standouts.

Dunheved accounted for Asquith GC 4-3 to jump to the top of section 4. Daniel Ayre was impressive winning 7&6.



Bardwell Valley defeated a valiant Richmond GC 4-3. Lester Peterson was impressive winning 6&5 for the Valley outfit, while Craig Ellings and Ian Davies 5&4 wins were the away teams best.

Warringah defeated Beverley Park 6-1 with Mitchell Pattison the standout winning 4&3.

Strathfield GC prevailed in a tight contest defeating Springwood 4-3. With five of the seven matches being decided beyond 17 holes, the standout was Yongjun Kim winning 4&3.

Northbridge kept their chances of making the division finals alive defeating Windsor 4.5-2.5 at home. Northbridge’s Peter Banbury was the home club's best winning 4&2.

Marrickville claimed their third win of the season defeating Bexley 5.5-1.5 to sit on top of section 3. David Fletcher and Stephen Oitmaa were the standouts with solid 4&2 wins for Marrickville.

Woolooware accounted for Leonay 5-2 at home with big wins for Kurt Rugless 7&5 and Chris Jamieson 6&5. Wayne Worthy was Leonay’s best winning 6&5.

Palm Beach defeated The Coast 4.5-2.5 with Mark Upton was solid winning 5&4 for the home team.

Randwick prevailed 4.5-2.5 against nearly promoted Kareela. Peter Cox 5&3 and Craig McMahon 5&4 were the standouts for the Randwick team.



In section 1, Cammeray was too strong defeating Bondi 6-1. Cammeray’s best were Kevin Gibb 7&6 and Jason Richardson 6&5.

Chatswood accounted for Roseville 5-2. Michael Robertson was solid winning 6&5 for the home team while Callum Sharp was impressive winning 7&6 for the away team.

Georges River was convincing 6.5-0.5 winners at home against Gordon. Shannon Speller was impressive winning 7&6 which sees them on top of section 2 with three wins from as many matches.

Macarthur Grange prevailed against Barnwell Park 4.5-2.5 with Adam Williams solid win of 7&5 for the home club.

In section 3, Riverside Oaks did enough defeating Hurstville 4-3. Neville Allen was the pick of the home team winning 4&3, but it was Jeremy White, who was the last match on the course who held his nerve on the 18th hole to win 1up and secure the win.

The Australian GC proved far too strong for Stonecutters Ridge winning 5-0. Stefanie Hall winning 7&5 was the team’s standout.

Led by NSW State Team member Sophie Yip, who won 4&3, Concord prevailed in a close encounter against The Lakes 3.5-1.5.

St. Michael’s has surged to the top of their section with a 3-2 win over Bonnie Doon. Early wins from Pamela Tsiamis 3&2 and Makensie Toole 3&1, followed by Casey Cook grabbing the win on 18th hole secured victory for the home club.

In the other match, another close contest saw Castle Hill edge out New South Wales GC, with Bella Kil winning 4&2 to clinch the win 3-2.



Avondale prevailed against Ryde-Parramatta 3-2 with solid wins coming from June Song 5&4 and Kara Williams 7&6, while Cronulla were big winners at home defeating Penrith 5-0. Abbey Bull was the standout winning 6&5.

In section 2, both Pymble and Moore Park proved too strong at home. Pymble defeated Cumberland 5-0 with strong wins by all players, the best being Edwina Pierce 9&8 and Annika Boyd 7&5.

Moore Park also accounted for North Ryde 5-0 with big wins from Nikki Haines 9&8 and Anna Booth 7&6.
