Thomas Heaton and Isaac Noh are locked together at the top of the leader board at the Victorian Boys Amateur Championship with just one round left to be played.
The team mates from the Australian Golf Club are tied at 6-over par 222 after 54 holes at the testing Yarra Yarra Golf Club in Melbourne. Strong wind over the last three days around the famed sand belt course has made the conditions treacherous for competitors.
Noh turned in the round of the day, a one under par 71 while the 14-year-old Heaton posted a very creditable one-over-par 73. They lead by two shots from South Australia's Jackson Katz. In fourth place is the Victorian pair of Mathew Cameron and Konrad Cuipek.
In the girls division, Celina Yuan the current Queensland Women's Amateur Champion sits one shot behind leader Victoria's Alissa Hetherington after a tospsy-turvy day on the course. Hetherington held a seven shot lead at one stage, however she stumbled with a couple of bogeys on her back nine. By the end of the day, Yuan had managed to peg that back to a solitary shot.
The final round of the Championship gets underway today with a morning shotgun start at 7.30am. The leading groups will tee of at 12.15pm.
