Kuys and Zeller win SA Junior Sand Greens

Shakira-Ann Kuys from Port Augusta and Liam Zeller from Stansbury Golf Club have taken out the girls & boys Junior Sand Greens Championships.

The Championship was played on 5 & 6 May over 36 holes at the Yankalilla Golf Club situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Liam, playing off a handicap of 8, claimed the boys championship posting two solid rounds of 71,69 (140). Zeller finished one stroke ahead of Josh Gumm from Sand Creek Golf Club.

Cameron Bickley from Willunga Golf Club, with a handicap of 5, claimed the nett event on countback (134) ahead of fellow clubman Brodie Long handicap 18.

In the Girls Championship, Shakira-Ann Kuys claimed the title after rounds of 82 & 79 for a 36 hole total of 161.

Kuys finished 22 strokes ahead of the up and coming Armani Marsters from Murray Bridge (183).

Amber Evers from Tanunda Pines Golf Club playing off a handicap of 36 won the girls net aggregate event with a score of (136).

The Teams event was won by the Mid North District, represented by players, Josh Gumm, Nick Mills, Jaxson Jones and Justin Woods.

Golf SA would like to acknowledge the Yankalilla Golf Club for hosting the championship and for their efforts organising and coordinating the event with Golf SA which included 32 championship players (15 players under 13/years) and their families.
