Perth's Minjee Lee was just two shots from the lead as her excellent form continued in the LPGA Tour's Meijer LPGA Classic at Grand Rapids, Michigan today.
Lee shot a first-round 67, four-under par, to put herself back on the leaderboard as she pushes for a world top-10 ranking for the first time. The Golf Australia rookie squad member is currently ranked 13th, having won twice on the main tour, and she is tied-13th in Michigan.
There is a bunch of players at six-under holding the lead — South Korea's Sei Young Kim, Paula Reto of South Africa, Carlota Ciganda of Spain, veteran Briton Laura Davies and American Lexi Thompson.
Meanwhile Su Oh and Karrie Webb's joust for the second spot on the Australian Olympic Games team continues, with Victorian Oh holding the cards for the moment. Oh began with a one-under par 70 today, against Webb's one-over 72.
