In a season of many honours, Curtis Luck has won another top gong in the United States.
Luck, 20, was today named August's amateur of the month by the Southern Golf Association, primarily for his win in last month's US Amateur Championship.
The West Australian became just the third Australian to win the Havermeyer Trophy, which has vaulted him all the way to a career-high No.3 in the world amateur rankings.
Luck will spearhead Australia's assault on the Eisenhower Trophy next week when he partners Sydney pair Cam Davis and Harrison Endycott at the World Amateur Teams Championship in Mexico.
Winners of the SGA’s March-through-October award, now viewed as a global poll in its 14th season, are determined by a national panel of golf officials, coaches and journalists in the United States.
Notable previous recipients include Bill Haas, Michelle Wie, Hunter Mahan, Ryan Moore, J.B. Holmes, Webb Simpson, Rickie Fowler, Danny Lee and Matthew Fitzpatrick.
