Nathan Page has carded a remarkable seven-under-par 65 to storm to victory in the 2019 Golf Australia Yarrawonga Junior Open.

Sitting at one-over-par and two shots back from Zac Wood after round one, Page fired six birdies and an eagle on the Lake Course at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Resort this morning to finish five shots clear of runner-up Blair Christie.

Page has only recently turned 16 and his effort is likely to see him elevated to the top of the 2019 Victorian junior boys’ rankings.

In the girls’ event, Keeley Marx rounded out an astonishing school holiday period, finishing at three-over-par for the tournament to claim her fifth junior rankings event in the last two weeks.

Marx handled the challenging layouts best, shooting two impressive rounds of 75 and 72 to finish six shots clear of her nearest competitor in Jeneath Wong.

In the overall net, George Carasividis prevailed with a terrific score of net 142 after 36 holes.

In the age divisions, the boys’ champions were Blair Christie (U21), Nathan Page (U18), Oliver Ngo (U16) and Corey Wakeman (U14). The girls’ age division champions were Piper Stubbs (U18), Keeley Marx (U16) and Zara Shinn-Mahony (U14).
