The first Rookie Series event of 2019 was completed yesterday at Yarra Bend GC.
Louis Inifer, at just 8 years of age, returned the best score of the day with a two-over-par 37 to take home the under 9 boys title.
The nett prize went to Ricky Mann who fired a superb nett 32 off a handicap of 19.
In the under 9 girls it was Arena Tran who claimed yet another Rookie Series title with an impressive 49 off the stick.
Grace Li showed much improvement in her game and returned the best nett score with 31.
The under 12 boys was won Taegen Dodds who fired 40 off the stick and the nett honours went to Christopher Dana with 31.
Sydney Victorie Bayerle carded the best score in the under 12 girls with 43 to win by 3 shots to Sophie Mann.
The nett prize went to Seabil Long who finished with 36.
Corbeon Leong prevailed in the under 16 boys, returning an excellent score of 43 and narrowly edging out Max Cornelius by one.
Steven Wan played to his handicap of 19 which was enough to take him victory in the nett competition.
The under 19 girls was a tight contest between Lottie Adrians and Ainsley Pho, with the former finishing on 47 and ultimately winning by one.
The next event on the Rookie Series calendar is the Pitch n Putt to be played at Australian Pitch n Putt Waverley Friday April 12.
