Kevin Sims has continued his fine form on the seniors tour, taking the lead after day one of the Coomealla Senior Open Championship.
Sims, the winner of the most recent senior event at Tocumwal, produced a magnificent 71 to lead by five over Terry Thompson.
A further three shots back in outright third is Peter Bence.
Sims also leads the way in the net section with a three-shot lead after his net score of 68.
Coomealla’s Stan Prymke will be looking to use his local knowledge as he sits in outright second on 71.
A further shot back on 72 is Peter Bence, Ralf Wagner and Peter Duscher.
The women’s scratch stableford event sees a familiar name on top with Helen Pascoe the outright leader.
Pascoe finished on 30 points to lead by three over Jillian Morrison and Louise Watach.
Watach is the one to catch in the women’s stableford with a fantastic 38 points.
Watach will take a two shot advantage into day two over Janice Walker, Lynda Saunders and Jillian Morrison.
