Division 2 was also a tight struggle, with Southern qualifying top, and Northern and Eyre, rounding out the division.
Solid golf was played on day two in the morning, with South East defeating Mid North 3-2 and then in the afternoon Mid North overcame Yorke Peninsula 3-2.
When YP defeated South East 3-2 in round three, all three teams had registered a win and five points, forcing a sudden death playoff between the number one player from each District.
Women’s State Team member Charley Jacobs from Yorke Peninsula, used all her representative experience to win the Cup for YP, winning on the first playoff hole.
In Division 2 Southern defeated Northern 3-2 in the final round to claim the Cup undefeated.
The Consolation Handicap Match Play was won by Northern with 4 wins to take it out by half a match over Eyre.
“All players participated very well in trying conditions and showed great sportsmanship.” said Golf SA Development Coach Allan Telford, who coordinated the Brett Ogle Cup.
“Port Augusta Golf Club hosted the event fantastically well, they’re a credit to the Northern District”. Telford added.
