Maroochy River Golf Club hosted the second Junior Golf Queensland 18 Hole Points Challenge event for the year on Sunday 10th March. In what can only be described as a salubrious day for golf there was an abundance of great scores.
The overall winner in the boy’s competition was Blake Davey from Arundel Hills Country Club who shot a fantastic 47 points scraping the title on a countback over City Golf Clubs James O’Neill. In the girl’s competition, local Maroochy River golfer Ava Stewart was the overall winner with 44 points off a handicap of 25. Congratulations to all the other winners and well done to all players for participating.

The third JGQ 18 Hole Points Challenge event will be held at City Golf Club on Sunday 5th May. This event is played in conjunction with the Ken Layton Memorial which is an open Greg Norman Junior Master Qualifier. Entries for this event are open on 25th March, to register visit JGQ 18 Hole Points Challenge & Ken Layton Memorial – City. Why not make a long weekend of it an enter the Gatton Junior Pro Am– GNJM Qualifier on Monday 6th May as well? The City Golf Club Motel is offering discounted rates to event participants looking at staying Sunday night.
