2006 PGA field announced

The final field has been announced for the 2006 Australian PGA Championship to be held at Coolum on Queensland&aposs Sunshine Coast. Confirmed starters include world number four Adam Scott, US Open winner Geoff Ogilvy, defending Australian PGA Champion Robert Allenby and two-time PGA winner Peter Lonard. Stuart Appleby, Rod Pampling, Craig Parry and MasterCard Masters runners-up Greg Chalmers and Richard Green will also take to the course at Coolum. The international charge meanwhile will be led by American Kevin Stadler and Englishman Anthony Wall as they try and break the Aussie stranglehold on the coveted trophy. “The PGA is delighted to have so many quality players teeing up this year in our Championships,” said PGA Chief Executive, Max Garske. “As always, the PGA Championship will provide a fun and relaxing end to the year for our members as they vie for Australia&aposs oldest title in professional golf.” The $1.2 million Championship gets underway on December 7.
