2012 MYGolfer of the Year: Toni McDuff

Congratulations to Toni McDuff from Ballina Golf and Sports Club in NSW on being named the 2012 MYGolfer of the Year. At just 12 years of age, Toni was one of the first MYGolfers at Ballina to reach the bronze level and has already produced some outstanding results in 9-hole competitions. In recognition of her achievement, Toni and a parent/guardian will be flown to Canberra for the 2013 ISPS Handa Women&aposs Australian Open in February where they will be treated like VIPs for the weekend!! Ballina&aposs Director of Golf, Geoff Barnes, said the club is delighted that Toni has been named the 2012 MYGolfer of the Year. “Toni is a great ambassador for the club and has been a shining light amongst a terrific group of junior golfers here at Ballina. Congratulations to Toni and well done to Golf Australia in their promotion of junior golf” Barnes said. “The MYGolf program has been beneficial as a management tool as well as encouraging junior golfers in embracing this great game of golf. I can not speak highly enough of our Junior Golf Coordinators who have generated a strong a vibrant junior golfing culture”. The Junior Golf Coordination team (Audrey McCabe, Paul Wilson, Andrea Glavocih and Mick Heffernan) were also thrilled to hear the news and believe this award caps off a fantastic year for Toni. “At the age of 12 she sets a great example for all our juniors and it has been a pleasure having her as part of our program” said Centre Coordinator Audrey McCabe.
