2013 Port Phillip Amateur Tournament – Entries Closing

Golf Victoria wishes to advise that entry into the 2013 Port Phillip Amateur Tournament has almost closed, with the cut off at 5.00pm on Friday 22 November 2013. The Championship will be played over 72-holes at Commonwealth and Kingston Heath Golf Clubs from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 December. All players that register after this date will be required to pre-qualify for the Championship proper.

The starting field for the Port Phillip, which incorporates the qualifying rounds for the Men’s & Women’s Victorian Amateur Championships, will be limited to 120 male players and 48 female players.  If excess entries are received, a pre-qualifying round will be held at the Commonwealth Golf Club on the afternoon of Wednesday 11 December. A cut in both sections will apply after the opening two rounds to determine a maximum of 58 male players and 26 female players to progress to the final 36-holes on Sunday.

After the completion of the Port Phillip Amateur, the leading 32 male and 16 female players will advance to contest the Match Play Rounds of the Men’s & Women’s Victorian Amateur Championships at Commonwealth and Kingston Heath from Monday 16 December. The 36-hole finals to decide both titles will be played on Wednesday 18 December.

Entry into the Port Phillip Amateur Tournament is $150 and handicaps must not exceed 3.4 stokes for men and 9.4 strokes for women. Players that participate in the pre-qualifying event but fail to pre-qualify will be refunded an amount of $100.
