2013 Victorian Four-Ball Championship Final – Rosebud CC

The Victorian Four-Ball Championship is the largest amateur golf event conducted in Victoria in terms of participation. It is great opportunity for club golfers to participate in a State level event, regardless of their geographic location, age or handicap level. Played in two parts, pairs compete in one or multiple 18-Hole regional qualifying rounds for a place in the 36-Hole final held in mid-March.

The first round of the Final was held today at Rosebud Country Club on the North Course. Players dusted off rain gear and umbrellas as cooler conditions and scattered showers were a dramatic change from Victoria’s recent heat wave. Michael Meneghini (Woodlands, Hcp 7) and Michael O’Donnell (Commercial Albury, Hcp 24) are leading the Men’s field with a score of 48 points, closely followed by Kingswood pair Tony Quinn (Hcp 14) and Robert Kierce (Hcp 26) on 47 points. In the Women’s field, the leading scores were from Box Hill pair Myra Fisher (Hcp 23) and Robin Ashby (Hcp 20) on 44 points, and Robyn Tucker (Hcp 18) and Alice Tucker (Hcp 22) from Gisborne on 43 points.

The second and final round will be played tomorrow at The National Golf Club on the Ocean Course with two multi-tee starts at 7:45 am and 1:00 pm. Presentations for the Women’s and Men’s Trophies will be held in the clubhouse at approximately 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm respectively.
