The 2014 Victorian Men’s and Women’s Teams have been announced by Golf Victoria’s High Performance Committee Chairman, Brian Lasky. The following players have been selected to compete in the 2014 Australian Interstate Series to be contested from Tuesday 29 April to Friday 2 May in Canberra. The teams will also compete in the 2014 Australian Amateur Foursomes Championships at Federal and Gungahlin Golf Clubs on Sunday 27 April in preparation of the Series.

Darren Cole will lead the team as coach while the team manager is Tamara Hyett who has had experience playing on many professional tours around the world and won the 2003 ALPG Players Championship defeating Laura Davies in a play-off. VIS Squad member Jo Charlton has been announced captain. The team will compete at Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club.

The Victorian Men’s State Coach is Martin Joyce who is also VIS Head coach. The Team Manager is Brian Lasky (Cranbourne) who has successfully managed Victorian Men’s, Colts and Junior Boys Teams at National Championships since 2005 including Men’s team victories in 2008 & 2009. Todd Sinnott who is the current number one nationally ranked player has been selected as captain. The team will compete at Federal Golf Club.
The teams have been selected after monitoring scoring from local, state and national competitions as well as using the experienced knowledge of State Coaches, Golf Victoria’s specialist staff and the High Performance committee. The remaining training sessions will allow each athlete to work with leading service providers including Darren Lay (Physiotherapist), Noel Blundell (Sports Psychologist) and Luke Mackay (Strength & Conditioning).
