2014 NSW Cup won by Zac Mullins

Zac Mullins from The Australian Golf Club has won the 2014 NSW Cup on Saturday, 15th February. The Cup forms part of the Golf NSW Vardon Trophy competition and is also a Golf NSW team selection event. Close to 80 players from across NSW, interstate and the UK competed in the Cup. The New South Wales Golf Club tested the players through the wet and windy conditions. Coach Dean Kinney was impressed with Zac&aposs results commenting: “It&aposs a fabulous result for Zac at NSW Golf Club in the weather and wind. To win by six shots against a quality field on a quality golf course really adds to the credibility of his performance.” Getting through the 15th and 16th holes was key for Zac; hitting the fairway both times there was critical, as danger loomed. The 36-Hole Scratch Winner finished clear in the lead on 134 with rounds of 66 and 68, ten under par. His closest opponent, Avondale Golf Club&aposs Isaac Noh, came in at four under on 140. Third place was Kevin Yuan, fellow Australian Golf Club Member who finished at 143. Zac has played at the NSW Golf Club &aposa fair bit&apos, and said “having a look doesn&apost hurt…I played a practice round on Thursday and that helped me a lot. Playing NSW is always a challenge. You need a good game plan.” Other award winners include: * Ricky Kato (The Australian) – AM Scratch Winner * Mitchell Gannon (Bonnie Doon) – PM Scratch Winner * Tim Bostock (New South Wales) – 36 Hole Net Winner Zac was excited with the win and said, “It&aposs probably as perfect golf as I have ever played hitting 32 greens and 25 fairways.” “Winning at NSW is special. I had a look at the names on the Board and there are some great players so I am stoked to have added mine.” For full results click on the link below.
