The third and final round teed off today at Beverley Park Golf Club for the 18 hole Foursomes component of the meet.
A tough day for the 62 players who endured a rough windy round to complete the fabulous week here in Sydney.
Defending Champions came through to win the 2014 Vera Rankin trophy in the 18 hole Foursomes. Coolangatta’s Jodie Rockliff and Susan Reguson had score of 90 to win the event by 6 strokes. With a nett score of 83, the 18 hole nett winners were Peg James (Grafton) and Kim Wiblen (Maclean) off and handicap of 13.
Division 2 Foursomes winners were Brenda Dean (Maitland) and Lynette Robertson (Nelson Bay) with a score of 100 off the stick, also winning their division by 6 strokes. Warren's Cathy Beach (18) and Woolgoolga's Patricia Hill (30) had an 79 1/2 nett to win the 18 hole nett.

Day 2 kicked off at Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club today for the 2014 Women's Country Meeting, the last 18-holes of the 36-hole event.
Jocelyn Mackay (Moss Vale GC) has locked in another win for the 2014 Women’s Country Meeting Mabel McKenzie Cup, second year in a row after her first win in 2013. With rounds of 89 at Ryde-Parramatta today and a 75 at Bardwell Valley yesterday, a total of 164 to win the Cup by 2 shots. Runner up for the 36-hole scratch was Jodie Rockliff (Coolangatta & Tweeds Heads GC) with rounds of 78 at Bardwell Valley and 88 at Ryde-Parramatta, totalling 166. Overall Nett Winner for the Division 1 Una Clift Bowl was Elizabeth Harding (Young GC) with rounds of 68 and 78, a total of 146. In second place, three shots behind on 149, was fellow Young GC member Leanne Slater. Third Place 36 hole nett went to Taree’s Jo-Ann Stinson with a total of 150 nett.
Division 2’s winner of the 2014 Rose Payten Trophy is Cootamundra’s Barbara Beveridge. Scores of 92 at Bardwell Valley and 100 at Ryde-Parramatta secured her win by 10 shots. Runner Up to Barbara was Denise Hunter from Deniliquin GC) with a total score of 202. The Una Clift Bowl winner for Division 2 was Cheryl Mineham from Young with a total score of 16 nett, rounds of 74 nett and 86 nett. Runner Up was Lyn Rowland from Yamba G&CC with 162 nett, winning on a countback to Maitlands Christine Whitchurch also on a total of 162 nett.
The final day of the 2014 Women’s Country Meeting will take place on Thursday 4 September at Beverley Park Golf Club for the foursomes component of the meet.

Ideal weather conditions to start the first round of the 36-hole, 2014 Women’s Country Meeting at Bardwell Valley Golf Club.
Course conditions were tough for all players after the rain Sydney has experienced over the past two weeks.
A close start for Division One with Moss Vale’s Jocelyn MacKay leading the field by 1 stroke after shooting a 75 off the stick. Elizabeth Knowles (Coolangatta & Tweed Heads GC) had a score of 76. Leanne Slater from Young GC (14) is leading the Nett with a score of 64.
Denise Hunter from Deniliquin Golf Club is leading the chase in Division Two with a score of 88, three strokes ahead of Maclean’s Kim Moore with a 91. Denise Hunter is also leading the nett event with 69.

The 2014 Women’s Country Meeting was developed exclusively for country women to participate at Sydney metropolitan golf courses. Over 100 ladies will play in this year’s event, being held at Bardwell Valley, Ryde-Parramatta and Beverley Park Golf Club’s from 1-2 and 4 September 2014.
The format for the event is stroke play over 36-holes for Division One and Two, 18-holes on Monday, and 18-holes on Tuesday. Thursday is an 18-holes foursomes event.
